Official Channel

April 21st, 2010
wilsoff was kind enough to design an official channel – you’ll find it on the Downloads page. It uses my own forwarder code, complete with USB 2.0 (via IOS 202) and NTFS support. Enjoy!

If I start wiimc with the forwarder, when i want to close wiimc and return to loader/whatever by pressing “home” the system freezes and must be shutted down by long pressing “power”. Something is wrong with the forwarder because there’s no such problem when i start wiimc from hb channel
Anyway, i still can’t access my account here, i’ve resetted the password for 5 times and all af the new generated passwords are wrong.

Keeps telling me it can’t install. would this have anything to do with the vulnerable IOS I use being, cIOS 202v4 merged 60?

  13. April 21st, 2010 at 19:43 | #13

Wilsoff was showing us the channel at the WADder forums, and it appears that everyone so far can’t install the channel with your channel installer. I myself have used IOS202 to install, and it refuses to install… any idea how to fix it?

This is coolest thing ever happened to my WII! NFS support would be great. How about DLNA? Ok that’s too much…

Kudos for the great work, this at least gets me one step closer to a Wii media player that other people (the technophobes in my life) can actually use.

    @driverx

Try setting the exit action to “Return to Wii Menu” in global settings. It helped me avoiding the black screen and actually returning to Wii Menu.

It keep telling me ‘Can’t install’ on my PAL Wii.

Doesn’t seem to work with my SDHC card. Installs onto the menu fine, but it says “Cannot find a valid SD/USB device”, black screens, and resets the Wii. WiiMC works fine in Homebrew Channel however.

WiiMC Channel Installer was re-uploaded 119 minutes ago. The XML says its the same original installer. Is this a new release or the same one?

  25. May 2nd, 2010 at 19:22 | #25

    …… also the boot.dol MD5 isn’t the same….. so its a different file.

I’ve modified the installer to avoid using 202 for the install since some people were having troubles with that.

  27. May 3rd, 2010 at 06:06 | #27

Thanks for the info. So does that make this v1.0.1 or does it remain the same v1.0 as per xml

Same channel, not different. Just a small change to the installer for those having troubles.

Found out how to get around the reset problem.

I think the installer is buggy!!

If you download the .wad from:-

    http://wadder.freeforums.org/post749.html#p749

And install it with Wad Manager, it works perfectly!

Hope this helps some of you.
