Version 1.1.2 Released

January 29th, 2011
Version 1.1.2 has been released along with an updated WiiMC Channel that has better USB compatibility. This release is primarily a patch release, but does have one notable new feature – ext2 support! Full changelog:

  • Synced to MPlayer r32815
  • Fixed broken audio/subtitle switching
  • Fixed “Exception (Alignment)” crash
  • Changed from mpg123 to ffmp3 (fixes some audio-related problems)
  • Added ext 2/3/4 support
  • USB compatibility improvements
  • Improved performance (enabled 64-byte fetch mode for the L2 cache)
  • Large file (> 4GB) support
  • Fixed relative playlist paths
  • Paired-singles enhancements (thanks Extrems!)
  • Added IOS whitelist – a warning will now appear if you are not using IOS58 or IOS61
  • Disable dvdnav over SMB (it’s too slow!)
  • Added Tamil translation (thanks dpandian!)
  • Other minor optimizations and bug fixes

How the subtitles autoscaling works? Some .avi the subtitle size 3.0 works fine but another with the same resolution (624 x 352) the subtitle is too small.
1.1.0 works fine without autoscaling. Subtitle size 3.5 is great for all videos independent of the resolution. Can u give me a clue how to make this work?
    Thanks

Thanks for the new release but I cannot view pictures. When I enter any picture folder it gives me the error message “One or more pictures exceeds the limit (6 MB) and will not be available for viewing.” but the thing is none of the pictures exceed 1.5 MB. If you guys can get that corrected it would be great.

Thanks for continuing to work on this, great job!

this is by far my favorite homebrew application for this console, keep up the good work, I’ll give this version a spin as soon as I have free time to tinker with a Wii again… the craziness on the PSP and PS3 scenes right now has me all tied up for the moment.

Looks like the total playtime shown for large files has regressed. It correctly displayed the correct total time in the beta from Jan 19th here: http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1033&start=130#p4785, but with 1.1.2 it’s displaying a total time less than what it should be. The movies will play all the way until the end, but the time/progress bar stop before that point.

    DVD has the same issues!
pointer isn’t alligned with the menus, subtitles are almost tranparent (only on dvd)

On .avi subtitles are yellow (despite i prefer and i have configured them in white)

    @innuendo

Check your subtitle file to see If it has commands to change the subtitle to yellow.
    Something like this ” ”

If its a rmvb file the subs are integrated to the avi file – usually – and you cant change the color or size

Rignog, dont know if Rodries are still using this but you can run this app to do some tests on your HDD
    (http://www.wiimc.org/files/USB%20Test%201.12.zip)
Upload the log (root of the sd) to the forum: http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1033 or to rodries_at_wiimc.org
(just replace _at_ for @ – spam precaution)

Thanks for the update! The only complaint I have with this version and past versions is that with MP4s the audio is always out of sync with the video. AVIs work fine though. Maybe someday…..

I had this same issue whenever I used the Wii Opera browser or Netflix channel or connect with Internet in any way. It seemed to muck up my router (Belkin)! I bought a new router (it was 5 years old anyway) and problem was fixed.

Hey, is there any way/possibility that the forwarder channel updates can be incorporated into the main update process? Updating the channel is rather involved, and for people who don’t really know what they are doing (eg several friends who’s Wiis I have installed Wiimc on) it has often meant that after an update, Wiimc does not work until the channel is sorted out. By me. I guess there will come a time when the channel forwarder will not have any more updates though. Just a thought.
