Poll – WiiMC Version

Ever since the WiiMC project began, whenever a new version has been released one person or another has commented that they will stay with version X for reason Y. So I thought I’d conduct a poll to see what versions people are using. Feel free to add a comment below if you’d like to comment about the specific version you’re using, and why.

Always use the latest version to improve the stability. There were problems with 1.2.5 only – crashed with HBC 1.0.8.
I update always, because you have no other chance when your wii is connected to the net and then always the update news appears. This would be much to annoying everytime when i use WiiMC.
And i hope always it will get better.
And there is no big difference between older or newer versions about crashes.
There is always a 50/50% chance that wiimc crashes[i had one or two after updating to newest 1.2.7] ( blackscreen with dump ) when you start a video from usb-hdd or over smb/ftp.
The solution is always the same: Re-start WiiMC and click the video again and it will play like there was no blackscreen before.
(HBC v1.10, IOS58 – all up to date)
(With newer WiiMC versions its more often successfull after the second try. Older WiiMC versions i often needed a third or fourth try to get the video run.)
Have you ever tried to isolate the problem? Obviously this 50% chance of crashing isn’t happening for everyone – for myself, I can’t make WiiMC crash even if I try. Perhaps it’s something you have plugged into your Wii’s USB port (HD or otherwise). Or if you have an SD card, perhaps it’s that. Try to narrow down what exactly is causing the problem – because this is definitely not the normal experience.
The only reason i rolled back to version 1.2.0 is the Hebrew subtitle.
for some reason the newer versions (1.2.1 – 1.2.7) show the Hebrew subs reversed (left-to-right instead of right-to-left).
never had a serious problem with any version using SMB and my seagate HDD. there’s a crash here and there but most of the time i’m a happy camper.
keep up the awesome work (and please fix the hebrew subs issue).
Awesome Flac software, I ripped all my Vinyl Lp’s to the Flac format and WiiMC is doing a great job playing that format flawlessly.
I use this app mostly for private radio streams and YouTube, so I’ve never really encountered one of the big bug, it also reads my DVDs and HDDs well.
I once rolled back a version as the USB support for my HDD was broken in the update (was somewhere around 1.2.0 if I remember correctly). Apart from that I always update to the latest version. I was especially delighted by the stability update with 1.2.5 as WiiMC crashed pretty often for me on playing the first video with 1.2.4. With the latest version everything is fine. Thank you so much for this awesome homebew app. I use it daily.
I *always* stay up to date with the latest releases, and I’ve rarely encountered a problem with WiiMC, usually if I get a crash it’s playing some screwy file I was trying to throw at it.
I’m very grateful for the continued support and updating of WiiMC, it’s my main media player and I love it!

Tantric it is really awesome of your amazing contributions to the Wii scene.
This is probably one of the most used apps (if not the #1 most used) of today.
You have also brought us emulators for GBA, SNES and NES.
