    Hey,

I’m trying to find a way of viewing my IP camera feed via my Wii, I already use WiiMC so wondered if it’s possible Does WiiMC support MJPEG video streams? My Camera url is made up like this “http://ip_address:port/videostream.cgi?user=name&pwd=password"

I’ve tried adding a link into onlinemedia.xml but it returns an error.. do I need a “type=??” string? If so, what?

    Here’s the current link: http://ip_address:port/videostream.cgi?user=name&pwd=password" />

If its not possible via onlinemedia.xml, is there another way of displaying this feed via WiiMC?

Thanks for any assistance you can give!

I’ve now sucessfully managed to get this working so thought I’d post on here in case anyone else attempts / wants to do the same thing.

Device = Foscam FI8904W (Networked CCTV Camera)
    IP Address of Cam: 172.20.1.4
    IP Port: 1234
    Username=WiiMC
Password= (blank or insert your password into the URL)

Edit onlinemedia.xml (located in the appsWiiMC folder) and add the following line:

I had to use ‘%26’ instead of ‘&’ to prevent an error message in WiiMC and use the videostream.asf rather than the .cgi version. If you want to change the resolution to 320×240 use ‘resolution=8’ and you can reduce the frame rate by increasing rate= to one of the following:

    Parameters:
    resolution:(8:320*240,32:640*480)
    rate: 0-23
    0:maximum
    1:20 fps
    3:15 fps
    6:10 fps
    11:5 fps
    12:4 fps
    13:3 fps
    14:2 fps
    15:1 fps
    17:1 fp/2s
    19:1 fp/3s
    21:1 fp/4s
    23:1 fp/5

If you have an older firmware, remove the ‘%26rate=0’ part of the URL if you have problems.

This should work on Foscam FI8903 / 8904 / 8904 / 8908 / 8918 and any other camera that uses the videostream.asf (or similar) method of streaming CCTV images.
