Im aware that VCD playback directly on the Wii will not work as it does not appear to be able to read CDs.

So in an attempt to get round this I have setup my DVD drive on my PC as a SMB-Share, thinking this would solve the issue. However it would appear WiiMC does not recognise .DAT files, and so all the folders on the VCD appear to be empty.

Would it be possible to unfilter .DAT files so WiiMC allows them to be seen? As to the best of my knowledge there are just renamed MPEG1 streams.

If so, would this be possible to do from a user perspective?
