I set up SMB share with a Win 7 PC, I can see the files in the pictures/movies/music share folders but cannot load any. The WiiMC works for online content but hangs when I try to load a file from any of the SMB share folders. The PC doesn’t have the firewall turned on and I am using Windows Security Essentials as an anti virus.
I have tried both from within WiiMC and through HBC/WiiMC with the same results. My Wii is the older type and I was able to load and watch a DVD.
What do I do now 🙁

Is it normal for an 8 character password to show by default when setting up a SMB share. When I highlight the field there are no characters there but they show on the screen. I don’t have a user name or password on the Win 7 PC.

After numerous router resets I finally got it to load a file. Was at the point of getting a 160N router anyway. Like the WiiMC 😀
