How to encode x264 video without stuttering playback issue

I discovered that the x264 issue that a lot o people (like me) was suffering with stuttering videos is related to the x264 codec “mp42”.

If you (re)encode the video using a “iso/isom” mpeg-4 encoder (meGUI is my favorite best-of – http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/megui/ ), you won’t have the stuttering problem anymore! (respecting the resolution limits already issued in the mplayer manual).
