    Hey everyone,

I’ve looked around and I don’t know what I’m missing to get Wii MC working with my XP box. Here’s all the info about my setup.

Background: I just bought a new Wii (the sports resort package) and updated to the 4.3 menu. I then used Indiana Pwns to get Homebrew Channel 1.08 on there. I had WiiMC 1.1 and WiiMC Channel 1.5 on an SD card, but only installed the WiiMC Channel.

After installing, I made sure I could ping my Wii from this computer. I then followed this guide:
    http://www.modzone.dk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=265
Using the “easy way” and turned on the Guest account on this computer. I went onto the wii and put in the info:
    Display Name: Computer
Share IP: 192.168.1.3 (this computer’s IP)
Share Name: Media (the shared folder name) [** the same name that appears when you visit \192.168.1.3 **]
    Username:
    Password:

After that didn’t work, I followed the “secure way” instructions making the login info wiimc/wiimc. I put that info into the wii and still no luck.

Is there something else I need to install? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, this sounds kinda dumb, but I solved it.

I saw on some site that I could see my samba share by typing in \192.168.0.3 or \

this lets you check whether the sharing is good.

In that listing I saw a folder called “Media$”. It wasn’t the same as the folder name for some reason. I went back and deleted the share, then recreated it making sure it was called “Media” with no ‘$’. That did the trick.
