    🙁 too bad.

But worst thing is.. i downgraded to 1.0.9 and… now video and sound are out of sync… of course it worked perfectly before.

If i deleted 1.1 and installed 1.0.9.. how can it break something that worked?

    I will investigate anyway.

luvWii, if you find a solution, tell me please.

You don’t need 4.3 I am running 4.1. You have to use the IOS58 installer, after that use the HackMii Installer to install the Homebrew Channel again, so that you run IOS58 instead of IOS61 in the Homebrew Channel AND in WiiMC.

Hello, I have a problem with IOS58, after fresh install of wiimc1.1.0 and HBC,Bootmii with IOS58; my wii is in 4.2E and I do not have any problem with wiimc, it’s really really better but, some problem when exiting a game CFG USB LOADER and usbloader gx(black screen) need to shut all the system down, is this coming from IOS58, it was IOS61 before and I had no problem when using USB port (left one) Thank You for any answer.

    Same for me.
Added ISO 58 and the new channel to get it working but no more HDD detected.

You most likely need to install the new channel, v1.5.@Cris

Fixed my forwarder channel issue (thanks go the Jense).

Basically I copied over the content of the .rar file into the apps folder with the assumption that it would replace the content of the previous installer (like it used to). The thing is, the boot.elf which was used in the previous versions has now been replaced with a boot.dol and so when you go to load the installer HBC opts to use the .elf file (older 1.4 and below) version and not the .dol file. Thus you end up installing 1.4 again and not 1.5 like intended.

To fix, simply remove .elf file (or completely delete older install folder and replace with new one)

I wasn’t able to install the new channel – the installer says it needs IOS58.

    I’m running 4.3 so I already have IOS58 installed. Dop-MII confirms this (v6176, I believe).

Is there a bare WAD file somewhere that I can install without using the provided installer?

  13. Tantric
    October 11th, 2010 at 19:00 | #13

    @Adam

It’s complaining that HBC isn’t using IOS58, and suggesting that you reinstall HBC. Do that, and then the installer will work.

Thanks for this new release 😉 I definitively trashed MplayerCE …
This 1.1.0 shows graphical artifacts in the upper part of the display … as if it was too heavy to decompress …
This happens on before perfectly played videos on 1.0.9. The display size is also bigger and I set zoom factors to 95% …

my usb hard drive still isn’t recognized why?

    October 12th, 2010 at 20:32 | #16

I got it to work after spending a half hour on it.

I installed IOS58 but it did nothing. So I used BootMii to reinstall the HBC. I tried IOS58 again, and got the Channel forwarder working, but still no HDD. So I reinstalled the HBC again, and ConfigUSB Loader found the HDD at last. WiiMC didn’t found the HDD yet though, even though MCPlayer worked. All the WiiMC tabs didn’t work, but after clicking on Settings twice, I got in. I went back, it didn’t save after the long Saving screen, but the HDD was finally recognized.

WiiMC now works again, but it wont’ save my settings anymore. And yeah, all my files on my HDD are all in lowercase. I sure hope there will be a new update that fixes all of this.

    Updated from 1.09 to 1.1 and I’m having tons of problems now;
Freeze on opening files, HDD not recognised half the time and the Wii freezing in standby mode after being turned off by the sleep timer (having to be hard shut down then restarted).

Not sure what’s gone wrong there but it says I can’t use 1.09 now else it will hang?

  19. October 13th, 2010 at 03:30 | #19

Great release, my online media are way faster and I can watch 2/3 of my .mkv-movie now in stead of 1/3, just one release to go 😉
I have 2 things I came across though:
    – The subtitles are placed a little bit too low. reading an ‘a’ in stead of a ‘g’.
    – Online media isn’t automatically playing the next video, although I enabled that option in the global settings. My suggestion is to move that setting to the video settings and add the option to online media settings as well, or keep it as it was: next video for video and online media in one option.

    It doesn’t work.

I can’t see most of the Screen. Its too big scaled. If I want to go back to my WII Mainmenu back it freezes -.-

Installed the new IOS and reinstalled the HBC on IOS58.

Seems that I have to use the older Version -.-

Hey!!! congratulations, this is the best wiimc version, thanks for fixing problems playing rmvb files (quick scenes didnt show properly having audio sync troubles and movie was played sttoped), however I think some little things would do a perfect wiimc channel:
    1. Use both usb ports.
    2. megavideo support for online media
    3. youtube prevew on the side of the tv on the online media area

Anyway, i think this is the best wiimc, its very stable and i really like that, thaks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

    October 15th, 2010 at 04:23 | #22

Awww… still no replay gain tag support?

Either that, or the devs don’t deem it important enough to mention in the change log… time to break out my tests samples again!

I know version 1.1.0 has problems, but in my casw, everytime i load the app on the HBC, it takes more than 10 seconds to load, almost longer to load. and to top it all off,i tried everything, from changing versions from the WiiMC itself but also to HBC. It’s an back & forth trauma that i have right now,but my WiiMC loading times is my main problem first & foremost. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi. I’ve tried to install the release 1.10 with the new channel 1.5, but they wouldn’t recognize my HDD. Dont know what could be the problem. I’ve installed IOS58, reinstalled HBC with IOS58, but it doesn’t seems to work… Anyway, congratulations for the hard work. I hope u solve this problem real soon.

    1. THANK YOU GUYS. WiiMC streams perfectly via SMB from my Mac. And the interface is incredible. I love the little touches like the “check marks” and the restart in the lat place where you were at.
    2. I too have the IOS58 thing on the channel installer. I’m running 1.0.8 and 4.3u. I’m too lazy to reinstall HBC. *shrug* Maybe release a WAD version as suggested.
    3. 1.1.0 fixes the loss of audio sync I had streaming some videos.
    4. did I say THANK YOU!

anyone having buffering smb issues should considering buying the wii lan adapter… it is way better than the wifi if you have interference problems.

  33. October 18th, 2010 at 10:57 | #33

Great update, I love it. naviXtreme still doesn’t recognize everything, (tested it out on AVGN, CD-i 1 and 3 and there are more that I forgot) but it works perfectly nonetheless.

the 1.1.0 beta version is great and it recognizes my HDD (finally!), now, MKV files sync with ease but it doesn’t load the subtitles that came included with the MKV files. is there a possible fix for it?

Hello, I started using WiiMC with version 1.0.9. Recently downloaded 1.1.0 and I love it, there just 2 small issues that I’ve had with it as of late.

1)When attempting to use Youtube streaming on a slow connection via wifi, playback sometimes freezes, along with the menu and interface. It can take several seconds to regain control. I run an after-school program at the library where I work, and we occasionally show Youtube videos that the kids might be interested in. During the afternoon hours (due to the public using internet on our computers), the library’s connection slows down to a crawl. It would be nice if one could reliably cache the video (w/ some indicator of caching), if not to RAM, then to SD or HDD. Even better would be the ability to cache multiple videos or as many as memory will allow. Otherwise, works fine at home using a USB LAN adapter and my cable internet connection.

2)I’ve noticed that picture quality has degraded in the pictures section whenever you zoom in on an image. Not a big deal, but this is small regression from 1.0.9.

    Thanks for your time.

Great work Tantric, I have been using the program extensively and I also used the original and I can say that this has come a long way. You and your team keep up the great work… Of course, the program is not perfect but then what what piece of software is ? You guys are doing a great job with the interface and its interconnection with the concurrent hardware !

    Cordially,

I just wanna say this is just the awesomest media player app for Wii!

I love how easy it is to configure SMB, SMB-based video streaming is spotless, plays videos on my TV smoother than my PC ever did! I’m very happy. Thanks.

Perhaps this is stating the obvious, but ‘beta2’ has issues reading my SD card, and therefore cannot save settings or play content stored there.

Thanks for the great app. Ive been using it since release and it just keeps getting more stable with every release. Plays xvids flawlessly! With older releases mp4s would usally crash my wii. The newer versions can play them now all the way thoughbut the sound is out of sync. If you can please make mp4s work just as good as the xvids do in the future! Thanks!

Ok, I’ve tried without success to select items from a DVD menu (ISO file) and can’t figure it out! Must be something I overlook. I even tried with the Nunchuk… Grrr…
