Version 1.2.0 Released

Version 1.2.0 has been released to fix DVD playback for those with drives that stopped working. Full changelog:

- Adjusted DVD drive ID detection – fixes drives that stopped working
Thanks for this awesome media center! I am new to homebrew, just installed 1.2.0 from Homebrew Browser. I can’t seem to get .iso playback to work – I have .iso files on a SMB share, and although I can navigate to them under ‘Videos’ and they load, but I am not able to select anything on the DVD menu and it simply repeats the DVD menu over and over again.
On a different .iso file, I got garbled playback and never even got to the DVD menu.
Other types of video files seem to play back fine.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Any suggestions on how I could help troubleshoot or fix this issue?
I can’t seem to play movie dvds. I just keep getting the error “dvd playback is not supported on this wii” Anybody know how to get around this?
Hi, 1.2.0 here but still the same issues with videos, it says the DVD is not supported in such version.
This is the first ever version of WIIMC I use and I am very happy with the added features of a wireless WII media centre. Great job. J have experienced some problems also. Some black screens already mentioned earlier by others and also connection problems when playing music from a SMB share. After two or three tracks the playlist stops playing. Seems almost like being paused, hard to tell. Most of the time selecting the next song manually solves the problem, but the same problem always returns after another two or three tracks. I checked almost all my wireless router settings but they seem to be fine for WIIMC purposes. Instinctively I feel the problem is related to losing a network connection so now I use as a workaround displaying pictures in a slide show while playing music. This seems to keep the connection alive and the playlist playing!
I have updated wiimc to 1.2.0, and now sometimes problems getting subtitles in my movies, which was no problem with wiimc 1.1.9, I play my movies from NAS over SMB share, I go back to 1.1. 9 until the problem is resolved.
Since updating to this version, about half the time I launch a video I get the hex code screen and “8 seconds to reboot”.. I can’t reproduce on demand. It is really annoying so I havent been using the software much lately. Just fyi.
I updated my old version of wiimc (don’t know exactly which version) and now I get the message “DVD playback is not supported on this wii” when playing a copied disc. My old version worked just fine. Strangely, if I use original DVD’s, I don’t get the message? -> does the new version have a copyprotection check???
