Try to write in english so other people can try to understand the problem and help us to improve wiimc
My time for the wii is very limited now
    —spanish—
Intenta escribir en ingles, así puede que otros gente entienda el problema y nos ayude, ya que ahora mismo no tengo mucho tiempo para la wii.

Sometimes when I use the online media tab, I get multiple listings of the same option, by which I mean rather than looking something like this:
    -Radio
    -OXM
    -Something or other
    -YouTube
    -YouTube Search
    I get this:
    -Radio
    -Radio
    -OXM
    -OXM
    -Something or other
    -Something or other
    -YouTube
    -YouTube
    -YouTube Search
    -YouTube Search
It usually happens when I click on one and then press B to go back. It has only happened to me in version 1.2.4.

Thank you for your great work. It really made the Wii much more valuable for us as a family.
I would like to notify you that I have had some problems since this morning’s upgrade. Mostly the system gets stuck randomly when showing dvd movies using the video option. I do this because under the DVD option, it won’t let click on the DVD menus, so I choose the Video option and then file 1_1 under the video folder. I think, but am not sure, the problem occurs in the transfer from one video file on the dvd to the other (i.e. 1_1 to 1_2). Anyhow, it didn’t happen before, and the freezes are quite often, and the only thing i can do then is restart the Wii.

Is it possible to integrate with Trakt.tv ?

“trakt keeps a comprehensive history of all tv shows and movies you are watching. Use one of our supported media center plugins and start sending this data automatically. Once you’ve configured your plugin, we’ll track your history effortlessly in the background without the need to manually check in. Request support for your media center”

“In addition to the media centers and mobile apps, the trakt developer community is amazingly talented and has created lots of great apps, mashups, and libraries all based around the trakt API. Prepare to be impressed by these great projects and make sure to let the developers know you appreciate their work! We’d love to hear about your project.”

After downloading the latest update, whenever I click on WiiMC it says loading please for at least a minute and then the screen goes black and stays black. The remote won’t even take me to the home screen. What’s happening here and how can I get it to stop?

Hi, thanks for WiiMC – it is brilliant. Unfortunately I’ve had to revert to 1.2.3 because 1.2.4 crashes whenever I play a video (from an smb share, .ts files that are MPEG-2).

    Hi,

Thanks for WiiMC. But I have the same or a similar issue to Roy above:

“I would like to notify you that I have had some problems since this morning’s upgrade. Mostly the system gets stuck randomly when showing dvd movies using the video option.”

I will downgrade (probably to 1.2.2, as I think that’s what I had before) and hope that works. I haven’t tried Roy’s suggestion of loading the VOB files manually, but I don’t want to have to use a workaround like this.

I’d provide more info about my Wii, but I haven’t got it with me at the moment; all I know is that it’s the old white one with a “75% chance of cut pins” according to the Drive Chip Database.

I hope this can be fixed! Thanks.

Hi, I’ve a problem with the versions 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 in both when I go to the picture section sometimes the program shutdown and return to the wii menu, I the version 1.2.2 I don’t have any problem. I use SMB to read the files in a Wii 4.1U. Great application

  27. March 23rd, 2012 at 09:55 | #27

Thanks alot for your software, it makes my Wii more useful!

Just a small comment: I have a video/audio sync problem for a few videos. The latest I tested was Spartacus Vengeance S2E08. It’s not a HQ video, the file is only 405 MB.
It plays flawlessly on my laptop, video/audio and subtitles all synchronised. But on WiiMC the audio is not synchronised with the video.

I found a way to re-sync the audio with the video, which is to simply change the current position of the video, by clicking on the navigation bar or by using the remote’s left & right arrows. It stays synchronised for like 5 seconds and then it desyncs again…

The episode was not watchable like that so I had to watch it on my laptop…

This issue was not present for the previous 7 episodes of the season, only with episode 8.

I too am having crashes (ISI Exception) with version 1.2.4. I never had problems before. The crashes occur when I am accessing videos on a smb share and the HDD storing the share is asleep. Once the drive spins-up the problem appears to go away.

    Hi,

Further to my earlier comment, I have tested by downgrading from 1.2.4 version-by-version; 1.2.0 (the one I previously upgraded from) was the newest version that will launch my DVDs to their menu, whereas any later version just crashes to a stack-dump.

Any ideas? I don’t want to have to keep using an outdated version, but I have no choice if I want to play DVDs (without using the file browser, which I don’t think counts).

    Thanks!

    Hi there,
I am getting DSI occurred errors whenever I start any videos (on smb share) or youtube, it is very annoying. Sometimes I need 6-8 restarts (black-screen with DSI, and reloads in 8 sec) until it starts playing.. (after this it will work normally).
I tried to remove no iOS reloads line from meta.xml, without success. I use the newest HBC..
(Sometimes I get this error with earlier versions also, but it was never so bad)

Do you have any idea, what should I try?
    Thank You!

I don’t suppose you guys could add an ability to manually enter Youtube video IDs?
I love using the online media feature, except my biggest problem is I often can’t find the new videos I wanna watch on my TV, in the search.

It’d be so much easier if I could just enter the link or the VIDEO ID directly. =/

    @Carlos

I also have the same problem as Carlos.

I’m on system menu 4.3, HBC 1.0.8, and WiiMC version 1.2.4. My SD card is FAT32 and my USB hard drive is NTFS.

First, I select the camera icon on top (picture viewer), then select either SD card or USB drive… selecting a drive to browse (SD or USB) triggers a Stack Dump, everytime. The picture viewer seems to be my only problem tho. Everything else works rather well.

    =====================================================

However, I did get a random Stack Dump crash while playing music with a playlist, where I had selected about 10 songs, one at a time, with the “+” button. Trying again, I added a whole folder with the “+” button, and it played perfectly. No big deal on this one, just letting you know.

  47. April 10th, 2012 at 14:20 | #47

Hey ever since the update I’ve been having all sorts of bugs. Some movies just freeze in the middle of play and go back to the menu. Some videos bring up black error freeze screen. I never had issues before the update. Also MKV files play horrible.

    April 14th, 2012 at 16:57 | #48

    Hi,

Thanks for a great program! Users mostly the program to see movies, where I rip my movies and use the Wii as a media center.

Have always experienced errors with screen dump, can not say what it should be, and error codes, I have not written them up yet. It seems like this is very random. Can start a movie, and it appears, can start a movie without it happening and stop the movie completely without it’s finished, when I start the movie again, it may appear.

After the last updates, I have experienced that long/big movie has a hard time to play as if the buffer is not large enough, and would rather not go down in quality, as I sometimes also see them through pceren, so although I could well go down in quality without being able to see very big differences in the wii, I could see the difference through pceren: (

I having a issue also with the new update. When I try to do a slide show with music. If I don’t let the song play for at least 30 seconds before switching to the image area. I get a stack dump. This has never been an issue until the recent update.

  50. thomas
    April 17th, 2012 at 22:04 | #50

rodries – I have tried the beta for a few weeks, and the stack dumps on movies seem to have stopped, however I still occasionally have crashes immediately upon starting the photo viewer. Again, WiiMC was working flawlessly for me for all previous versions before 1.2.4. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks!
