avi files off of dvd disc

how do you get it to work then when I put a avi data disc in it says invalid dvd

but it will play dvd discs cause I got backups of my games so the original dont get scratched up, so Im wondering how to get it to read avi files on a disc of episodes of a show I got. Is there something I need to download or what? It will play avi files streaming & through the sd card but I want it to work on the disc but it says invalid dvd

Video Mode/Data DVD will list the directory of files on the DVD Data disk just like any other drive.
DVD Mode is only for playing commercial DVD’s.

You don’t have to do anything other than check to make sure the DVD option is set on in settings (A big hit here is if the dvd disc shows up top, then it is).

There is one catch, you would need to select Data DVD under the videos section, it will not work if you try to click the dvd disc on the top menu.
