    WiiMC v1.1.8 Subtitles Issue (idx/sub)

WiiMC v1.1.8 does not playback idx/sub format subtitles while v1.1.7 had no such issue nor does Mplayer_CE. The subtitles do not appear on screen at all except for a brief flash when exiting WiiMC during playback of the problematic video. There was a bug tracker entry posted (http://www.wiimc.org/tracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=386&project=1&status%5B0%5D=&order=id&sort=desc) which was promptly closed without much follow-through. There have also been beta versions of WiiMC made by Rodries (http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1383) which have seem to fix the error only to introduce a random dump error in its place.

I have created a new bug tracker issue (http://www.wiimc.org/tracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=393&project=1) in hopes of squashing this bug in any future release of WiiMC. If you have experienced a subtitle issue with WiiMC v1.1.8, please include your information in both this WiiMC forum entry and the above linked bug tracker entry.

    Thanks.

This was fixed months ago – http://code.google.com/p/wiimc/source/detail?r=967

You just have to wait for a new release.

Awesome. I didn’t realize that “dvd subs fixed” included idx-subs with non-dvd video like AVIs. I thought it meant subtitles were fixed only when a DVD was actually being played, referring to a separate issue. Come to think of it, that “1024” width statement should of made that clear as DVDs are limited to 576.

No problems waiting for a new release. Good things are worth the wait. BTW is the next version also going to re-introduce support for IOS202? I believe rodries made a few beta test versions available with such support…but I don’t remember what came of it…

    Thanks

😥 Darn. Well if you ever change your mind I for one would appreciate it. My harddrive (WD My Book Essential 1TB v1) never has worked as well (access time in particular) as it has with the old cIOS202 based WiiMC versions. I would love to see the same performance back in the newest versions of WiiMC via rodries Hermes v5.1 MOD cIOS202.

    Thanks anyways.
