I had testet this with WiiMC but i got no code dumps. Firmware V3.2E, started thru HBC with active IOS58. Even with a configured SMB share there were no problems.
But i have noticed, that with WiiMC V1.0.9 my harddrive is only found, when I start it thru the WiiMC channel. When I start WiiMC by HBC, my hdd is not found.

Jense, could you redownload http://www.wiimc.org/files/wiimc-beta.zip and let me know if you still get the code dump / black screen issue without a network connection?

I can’t reproduce this. Do you have WiiConnect24 on/off? What do your Wii settings look like for network? You have the router turned off…?
Do you get a crash screen, black screen, lockup, or…?
Does this only happen when loaded from HBC – can anyone confirm that?
What happens if you change your Wii settings to remove the network connection?
How soon does the crash occur?
Where does this occur? In the WiiMC menu, before you even load a video? Are you doing anything at the time, or can you just let it sit and it’ll crash?
What IOS does WiiMC report to be using, and what IOS is HBC using?
