    Hi to all,

first thanks for your magnific work with WiiMC.

What about mkv improvment? I see that WiiMC can play this format, but with a lot of flickering due to the limitation of Wii’s hardware.

Why don’t use the GPU of wii to help WiiMC in decoding these files? I think that Hollywood Chip made by ATI can use the algorithm of ati drivers’ mpeg decoding (or similar) to help the cpu in decoding videos and/or downsampling them to the PAL resolution that WII is able to use.

    Regards

Are you kidding? You don’t think we’re already using the GPU?

I know U are using the GPU.
But I’ve seen that your last (wonderful) release is more powerful and has more speed..
.. probably you found a little bit power of our Wii somewhere
Great work!! Thank you for all.
An idea: If WII is capable of more than PAL Resolution (for ex. 720 or 1333 horizonthal pixel) it could be nice to make mkv playing possible via an offline PC tool that can covert our MKV-HD to be compatible with Wii res and audio.

Why not check out VLC-Shares? I believe it transcodes things on the fly so you can play them on your Wii.

This option would require a separate computer to do the transcoding, as well as running a WiiMC+ build.

    VLC-Shares – http://code.google.com/p/vlc-shares/
    WiiMC+ – http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=10

WiiMC+ is not required, but it has some optimization for VLCShares
