I have installed WiiMC and it appears to be working well. I have been able to update it and view online media via WiiMC. However, I am unable to map either the SMB or FTP connections to my Wii. I am trying to get it to connect to my NAS (Synology DS209) this is the only device on my network that cannot see my NAS.

For the user / password. That should be a true user account and not the admin account that I log in with to mamange the NAS correct?

Could it be the settings on my NAS, Router, are user error putting in the network connection information.

    Thank you.

Are you able to make these connections with another device? If so then the same settings would work with wiimc.

All other devices (desktops and laptops) can connect to the NAS without issue. I don’t use any other software on my Wii to access the NAS. I really think that this is a case of user error. Either I am putting too much information or too little information in the set-up window.

Below is what I am putting into the set-up

    Display Name ____ DJ
    Share IP ________ 192.168.1.107
    Share Name______ SMB://DJ/Share/
    Username____Wolf******
    Password_____Wolf*****

    Thanks.

Share Name should just be the name of the folder you have shared.

    eg:

    Music

    These are all invalid:

    smb:blah
    C:blah
    blahblah
    \pcblah

    Tantric,

Thank you. I changed the directory to the top level and now it is working.

I have some other minor issues to deal with so it is off to the FAQs to address them.
The two questions are constant buffering and all the remote inputs.

Thanks again. I am really enjoying the homebrew community so far.
