I read some info around avast.com and realized it was a bug in there virtualization.
This was suppose to have been corrected in the most recent version of 6.0.1000.
Although it was not.
I came across the pre-release thread and decided “why not I’ll try this” and now SMB works with Avast 6.0.1044
If you want to install the pre-release then use the link below or just wait and Avast will eventually send it out in a full update. I didn’t feel like waiting.
Oh wow, I just installed this and so far, it seems to have helped. I was missing seemingly random files every time I started up the filesharing, I got different files every time I opened the share, it was quite annoying. I though it was a virus, never thought it could be an anti-virus 😛
