Trouble with Ubuntu (Lucid) Samba Share

I’ve set up a samba share on my Ubuntu Lucid Lynx server, but am unable to connect from within WiiMC 1.0.6 (or MPlayerCE). I am able to browse this share from a Windows and an OSX client.

Here is my smb.conf:

encrypt passwords = yes

Does anything look amiss here? Is there a way to see the actual error message that WiiMC is generating? In my samba logs on the server, I am not seeing any failed attempts, etc.

Hi vanepelw,

could you try the following settings (either one and both)?
max xmit = 32768
keepalive = 0

Both belong to the global section.

Thanks for the help – Unfortunately I get the same response after adding those parameters from both WiiMC and MPlayerCE. Is there a way within one of these apps or a different app to see the actual error message that is being returned?

This has been resolved – I’m embarrassed to admit it had nothing to do with the Samba config, but was due to me using my router’s guest connection account (http only) rather than the full account. I distinctly remember not wanting to put in the 30 random character PSK with the funky Wii keyboard back then, and I paid for it now. Thanks for the help, nonetheless.
