v1.1.0 : Invalid Error DVD

Hi ! 🙂

– I ve got the v1.1.0 of wiimc
– The ios58
– The lasted HBC (v1.0.8 i think).

I can’t read any DVD, the wii check the disc for few seconds and display ‘invalid error dvd’. I search into the forum, i’m not the only one who encounter this pb, but no solution seems to be find.
Is the wii can really read original (commercial i mean) dvd with WIIMc or “just” datas DVD?

Can you help me please ?

If you have a newer-ish Wii (made sometime in the last 2 years…?) it can’t. Nintendo made a hardware change to prevent the Wii from playing anything but Wii discs.

is there anyway for WiiMC to detect this? maybe this option should remove its self from the menu if its not supported in the hardware.

my old Wii will play DVD’s but not very well. my newer Wii wont play them at all.

No, I don’t know how to detect this.

Use the DVD Disable setting to turn off the DVD icon permanently.
