So if nobody knows about the PS3 Media Server, its a really cool program that lets you stream MKV files to the PS3 and Xbox360 by transcoding the file first, buffering, then sending it. Now PS3 Media Server could technically work with WiiMC if we can get WiiMC to work as a DLNA client. That would mean MKV’s would no longer need to be coverted or attempted to be processed on the Wii. In the end, all your movies could be streamed to all 3 consoles, in any room from one centralized location without having to put any effort into coverting, or whatever to make them compatible because they will be transcoded and buffered on the fly. Even at 480p it’s so worth it. So hopefully this can be an upcoming possability!
Side Note – I want to personally thank the team on WiiMC. It really helps the overall feel and fun of watching movies on the wii. Absolutly a much needed app a long long time ago. #1!!!
