That does make sense. I think I’ll stick to updating via WiiMC itself.

This did fix my problem and subtitles work fine now.

I ended up looking at the difference between the 1.0.6 “new install” package and the “update” package.

Turns out there is a file in the “new install” called “subfont.ttf” that does not exist in the “update” package.

When I update apps for homebrew, I usually just grab the newest contents under ‘/apps’ and replace what I have under ‘/apps’. So this meant that I didn’t get this “subfont.ttf” file since I was using the “update” package (erroneously, apparently)

I will test later, but I’m guessing this is my problem.

Who are the intended audiences for these different downloadable packages?
