    That new version makes me fail to play any video. Tried to play AVI(XviD) and MKV(AVC). They worked fine on 1.1.5 and they are NO HD!

    On every try I get a stack dump.

    Here is a screenshot of this: http://img541.imageshack.us/i/dsc00380g.jpg/ (taken with mobile!)

    I should add that I updated via WiiMC itself. It showed me up that there is a new version.

    just restart the wii .. that error code is because you quickly start the video the, you need to waite for 2 mins because its loading playback inside

  11. April 15th, 2011 at 05:12 | #11

    I got the same dump @Hydraulik trying to play an avi (XviD too) via smb share.
    I updated via WiiMC too and tried the same video 3 times.
    Then, I got my sdcard and made a new WiiMC installation on it. Lost all my configs
    and restore points and got the same dump =P
    Have to return using 1.1.5.

    i was just having the same problem. I restarted, no dice. but i then I changed my Aspect Ratio to auto, from 16:19, in Video Settings. Now all my videos that worked before, now work again and don’t crash the wiimc. hope this helps.

    double checked. put it back to forced 16:19 and those smb videos crashed

    oh but i think music might still be fast forwarding. yep music still messed, no clue there.

    Just a piece of advice for all: When I had issues I thought were caused by the autoupdate, I updated manually by deleting the app right off the sd card and replacing it with the newest copy.

    hope this helps at least 1 other person ease their frustrations.

    Rondries, your build works.

    I did a few Tests and here are my results:

    Rodries’ version has the same bugs the officially version has. Deleting old version and update manually seem not to work, too.

    But Jsun is right. WiiMC only crashes when 16:9 is being forced in settings. When I switch back to 4:3, the new version runs properly.

    And I forgot to mention that I play my videos from Hard Drive. (Not SMB like Thiago does.)

    a little solution if you can’t set 4:3 aspect ratio is setting up screen zoom to 95.00%, 115.00% and aspect ratio to “auto”.. that’s work for me

  25. April 16th, 2011 at 07:37 | #25

    I have the same problem with .flv, .avi and .wmv files at max. 576p over SMB.

    @Hydraulik

    ok, I’ll try to find the bug, I’m sure it’s about my last memory optimization texture changes

    Ok reverted my mem optimization:

    @rodries
    Yep, it’s fixed now.

    But I found another bug today. When I play MKV (AVC) Videos, the picture is getting out of sync and after 2 minutes, the video is playing faster (the sound doesn’t) and will sync automatically. And it will get out of sync after 1 minute again. It’s a bit strange. When I play this on my PC it won’t get out of sync.
    And: The less I set the buffer option, the faster it syncs itself again. I experienced this in 1.1.5 … don’t know if it got fixed yet.

    @Hydraulik
    What’s the resolution of that video?

  31. Hydraulik
    April 16th, 2011 at 18:07 | #31

    @Tantric
    It is 720×540, using x264. Audio Codec should be AAC, but I’m not sure about. It has 3 audio tracks and 2 subtitle tracks. I got 153 Files of that, 20 minutes each.
    Need more Info? Size should be ~150MB. I could send you one of them if you want to test around.

    @Hydraulik
    That’s not a bug. You’ve reached the upper limit of what the Wii can play.
