You should post this in the VLC-Shares thread, as it is not related to WIIMC.Perhaps the author can help you.

With the latest SVN at the time of release. I am actually hoping that a 1.1.1 or 1.2 will soon be released so I can publish mine as a WIIMC+ patch to that release.

Great, I too am trying to enhance the script as is the original author. One thing is to generate a .plx format playlist rather than the current .pls format. This makes it easier to modify WIIMC to handle custom tags as I am already doing for VLC-Shares.

Already done and posted http://www.wiimc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=926#p4068, and with the “Autoplay Next YouTube” and “Sort Playlists by Name” options in the WIIMC Enhancement pack IV, you can play the results continuously in the order you like without interruption or intervention. Makes for many enjoyable hours of entertainment.

I have added this script to my vlc-shares library so I am no longer dependent on connection to the authors server to execute this script and these searches.

    What’s New?
    ===========

The “WIIMC Enhancement Pack V” has evolved into a major set of additional enhancements built on WIIMC 1.1.1:

    1. Completion of the Enhanced Browser Bar Tracking and menu return to the last played features so that all modes including onlinemedia are now correctly tracked and returned to the last file played.
    2. A set of selectable tools to sort files by date and to sort by name, display, save and rename onlinemedia playlist and stream links so that custom playlists may be created of favorite links.
    3. Options to locate the onlinemedia link files onlinemedia.xml and savedlinks.xml and/or the restore_points file on the PC where they may be edited and loaded immediately rather than having to transfer these files from the WII, edit them and then transfer them back.
    4. The ability to dynamically change audio delay and subtitle size while a video is playing, which addresses the two most commonly needed adjustments which cannot be practically achieved by changing settings.
    5. The expansion of available restore points up to 500, the option to make them location independent, and the addition of indictors to show files have been completely played as well as those that have been paused.
    6. The complete integration of VLC-Shares into WIIMC, including browser bar fileplaying tracking, up-one-level return to the VLC-Shares Main Menu after VLC is spawned, and restore-point tracking so that previously played shared files are indicated on both Video and VLC-Shares menus as paused or played regardless of whether they were played as WIIMC or VLC-Shares videos.
    7. Extended support for the new standard WIIMC support for external music playlists, which verifies the validity of a playlist and its files before loading them into WIIMC+.
    8. A new Music Remote Play Mode which controls the Music Mode functions, Play/Pause, Next Selection and Restart with the Down, Right and Left WIImote buttons while in Screensaver Mode.

It implements the following individual changes:

    a) Correctly tracks the path of playlists and folders on the top browser line when in Onlinemedia mode using the Enhanced Browser Bar option.
    b) Correctly tracks the VLC-Shares playlists, adds support for the up-one-level (B-Button) after VLC is started, and displays folder icons 42). Also adds previously played restore point checkmark support to vlc-shares file menus, including plug-ins, if “Restore using” “filename only” is selected 23).
    c) Correctly tracks Navi playlists including support for including multi-page Navi Playlists 43).
    d) Adds support for mms links when using the “Save Links” 11) and “Display urls” 14) options.
    e) Corrects errors in processing the “Display all urls” option 15).
    f) Changes any invalid xml characters “Save Links” 11) names and addresses to avoid .xml errors.
    g) Adds an option 9) to “Sort Files by Date” rather than by name.
    h) Adds an option 10) to “Sort playlists” by name rather than the order downloaded.
    i) Adds an option 12) to “Save and Rename Playlists” when they are loaded.
    j) Adds a new “Sort,Save & Display Settings” 38) section with No, Once and Always settings to make it easy to change these frequently used options.
    k) Adds an option 21) to log “unable to Access” YouTube videos.
    l) Adds a new “Restore Using” option 23) to match played videos on filename rather than the fullpath name, and to match foldernames as well as filenames.
    m) Adds a new “Restore Points” option 24) to set the number of restore filenames from 50 to 500, and saves the restorepoint file after each change.
    n) Adds a new option 25) “Resore_points Location” to cause WIIMC to load and save the “restore_points” file from either the WII or the PC.
    o) Adds 3 new icons to the existing green check: a red check and green and red checked folders, to indicate that files and one file folders have been paused (green) or played completely (red). 41)
    p) Implements a “B Toggle” button 39) while playing videos, which alters the left/right and up/down buttons to dynamically change audio delay and subtitle size.
    q) Correctly returns the browser listing to and highlights the previous file, directory or playlist when a video ends or up-one-level the (<-B) button is clicked 40).
    r) Incorporates a + sign into the WIIMC logos and credits in recognition of wiimc-plus, and includes in the credits the svn level to which the enhancements were applied.
    s) Now saves music playlists 36) into “mpl/playlist name” subdirectories so they may be viewed in WIIMC; retains the last playlist name used, changes playlist management terms from “erase, save and restore”, to “clear, save and load”,and returns to the playlist menu rather than the music menu after using these functions.
    t) Adds a new option 26) “Save Location” to cause WIIMC to load and save onlinemedia.xml and savedlinks.xml files from either the WII or the PC.
    u) Displays the onlinemedia menu in the order of the onlinemedia.xml file rather than sorted by address. 44)
    v) Expands the Now Playing information for Shoutcast Radio to split the Artist – Song Title line over 2 lines, and to increase the length of all lines so more complete information is shown. Also changes music to also show artist then title. 45)
    w) Adds a new option 27) to verify the validity of external Music Playlist contents before loading them into WIIMC+.
    x) Implements a new Music Remote Play Screensaver Mode 28) which activates the Screensaver and uses the Down, Right and Left WIImote buttons to control the Music Mode functions, Play/Pause, Next Selection and Restart.
    y) Adds a new option 46)to display “trace” output to track key events within WIIMC+ for those who wish to do further modifications.
    z) An “Enhanced Guide to Onlinemedia” is included in the pack to explain the use of the enhanced options for sort, save and display of onlinemedia.

Details on each of the options are included with the Enhancement Pack.

There never was the ability to generate video playlists, and the support for playing predefined videoplaylists was removed because they found found that most m3u’s people create have absolute paths in them (eg: C:..) which means the files in the list can’t be added anyway.

The only option is to put the vids you want in one subdirectory and turn on the autoplay next video option. The randomize would have to be done by manually putting a prefix on the filenames.

Autoplay is a video option and only works in video mode. I too wanted autoplay for you-tube playlists in onlinemedia mode and so enhanced my WIIMC to autoplay YouTube videos.

Why do you need playlists for videos? The directory list shows all the videos and you can select the one you want to play.

IMHO playlists make sense for short files like music songs and youtube videos, but not for long playing files like videos. The WIIMC Autoplay option” should be sufficient for most needs like sequential series kept in a series subdirectory and named appropriately.

    1. On your PC using the player provided by apple.

2, Download the trailer to your pc and then play it with WIIMC.

    3. Play around and find the link and add it to onlinemedia.xml I used StreamTransport and got the following 2 URL’s from the apple site and movies.com

    <link name="Born to Be Wild" addr=" http://trailers.apple.com/movies/wb/borntobewild/borntobewild-tlr1_h640w.mov

Be aware that many of these trailers are HD files that may be beyond the ability of the WII to play such as the 1080p above.

    Ah, now its clear.

So for others, the WII settings provide the WII with an IP, and the WIIMC settings use that IP when setting up an SMB. If both are assigned a Static address which I do, then there are no problems. If the WII is set to assign the IP automatically, I don’t know what IP address you use when setting up SMB on WIIMC, and apparently it can create the problem referenced in this thread.

No, these NAVI playlists link to xml files which contain the links to movie files, and require a processor. WIIMC does not support processors so these NAVI links cannot be processed by WIIMC. My attempts to link to the movie files directly are intercepted by itunes and attempts to access those files fail. You can read more in the NAVI sticky.

My solution to this was to mod WIIMC to adjust the audio delay dynamically while the video is playing. Its really impossible to do it by stopping play and adjusting the settings. By doing it dynamically you get immediate feedback and can instantly adjust dead on. I lip read and have found that almost every video has some slight difference from perfect sync but .1 second steps seem to do the job.

Note however that with AVC encoded videos, over 640 pixels, the video playback will slow proportionately to ~ half speed as the width grows to 1280, and the audio playback stays at normal rate. These cannot be sync’d.
