In order to develop and test my Enhancement Pack, I have many copies of WIIMC installed, and just went thru testing versions from SVN508 thru SVN692. My access to SMB works identically with all of them.

I’ve done this with the left/right buttons while the movie is playing, which gives instant feedback on the lipsync, and works great. Surprisingly I’m finding most videos need ~ +0.6 sec to sync perfectly. This will be part of my version V patch.

Under video the left/right buttons jump forward and back and under music the left restarts the song and the right goes to the next song in the playlist. I don’t see a need to jump forward in a song or jump back to the previous song.

Under video the up/down buttons change audio and subtitle tracks but under music they are used to move the browser bar up and down.

Under video the +/- buttons change volume and I have changed them to do the same in music mode, but the WIIMC developers have advised that they will not do the same.

Under video the A button will toggle pause but under musi it is used to select the browser entry.

The only controls left are the single play/continuous play/loop play I don’t see the need to put these on buttons.

So I’m left wondering what it is that you would like to change?

What buttons do you want to change? I have patched WIIMC to use the +/- buttons for volume control and they work great. Are there others that need changing?

Beats me..that update is dated June so I don’t understand why you would get it now. As for VLC-Shares I have the same 250GB of data and no problems. Why not do a System Restore and go back to when it worked?

I’m on W7 but do not have that update perhaps because I’m on 64bit. My smb works fine, and VLC-Shares can see all the folders (and their subfolders) that I have setup in VLC-shares, which just happen to be the same ones set-up for smb, but vthe two are unrelated..

Use the DVD Disable setting to turn off the DVD icon permanently.

rodries: does this mean you will be moving restore points to mem2 and changing the value to 1000 in a future SVN?

I have a portable drive that I move between my PC and WII, so I guess your idea would work for it too. Why don’t you develop a patch for this and post it so I can include it with mine?

I too use subs and the size varies from file to file using xvid.avi’s. I simply stop the video, adjust the subs and start again. I’ll try and analyse the cause of this variance and report back.

Yes, I have altered my post, they are all external drives. I believe the SMB setup forces you to use 192.168.1.nn as the host address.

I haven’t tried a folder, but I have no problem sharing the full drives. I share my external G:, H:, and I: drives as G,H and I. H: and I: are FAT and NTSC partitions on the same drive. If they are not connected I get a network error if I select them.

IMHO your problem is no different than those watching 4:3 TV on 16:9 TVs (black bars at sides), or those watching 2.35 movies on 16:9 TV (black bars at top and bottom) or those shows with black all around. Perhaps other TV’s are incapable of handling these common problems, but my SONY, has “full” for stretching 4:3 proportionately horizontal and “wide zoom” for stretching only the sides to fill the screen with letterbox, and “zoom” to move in closer which fills the screen when black all around or with 2.35(although as you note the sides get cut off). Check yours out.
